Charlie's Dream

Charlie knew if she wanted to do this, she would have to do it on her own. Her parents couldn't help her financially and they would discourage her from following the dream. It will not make a living for you they would say. It is a waste of time. You are too short. A dozen reasons why not and not one for why she should save her absolute certainty that it was meant to be.

She supposed she would have to start in the library. She needed to know what was needed to reach for the star that pulled on her. So that's where she went. She volunteered to help out in the library. She would read the books when she had a few minutes between helping the other students.

She read every book the school library had on the subject and practised in her room for an hour or so after she was sent to bed. She had to be quiet about it though so she didn't have any way of learning the beat. You can't really move properly without knowing the beat she knew.

When they started that module in physed she was elated, this would help she knew. It would give her a baseline to start from.

She still needed to find a way to practice other forms with the music. To do that she would have to earn some money. She checked out the after school job board and found a couple of things she was experienced at. They both required her to live-in which got her out of the country and into town.

She looked them over and called the numbers. The first job she had ever had away from home was as a companion to an older woman. She had her own room and was required to keep the old lady company for a few hours a day as well as doing the grocery shopping for her.

She saved the money because she knew she would need a lot to pay for the lessons she wanted. Her second week on the job she had paid the local studio a visit and requested information regarding the cost of the classes. It was more than she expected but she was determined.

She would be well-known one day, she was determined

After much work and struggle she could finally call herself a dancer. She had danced before an audience of thousands, even her parents had changed their tune. They sang the praises of their daughter the dancer to anyone who would listen.
